Opelousas Little Theatre

Do you have an uncontrollable urge to act on stage? Would you like to showcase your acting ability in an established theater? How about assisting our productions back stage with set design and construction? Would you like to help with costumes, make-up and props? Volunteering in an OLT production is both rewarding and gratifying.

Auditions are open to the public. Notices announcing the production, times and dates of the audition and the characters needed will appear in the Opelousas newspaper, Daily World.

Volunteers are also needed to assist in pre-production, during the actual production and post-production of plays, as well as other events sponsored at the theater. Contact any OLT member or Dana Reed at (337) 948-3284 for more information.

Membership in the OLT is the best way to learn all about theater-life and become an active participant in the local arts. Annual memberships are open to anyone. Membership dues are:

These membership dues are per year and should be received by the treasurer in January of each year. OLT members are eligible to attend our monthly meetings, which are held on the last Monday of each month (except December) at the Opelousas Little Theatre building.

Donors are welcomed and encouraged, as we are a non-profit organization, and constantly are in need of funds to sponsor productions and for the general maintenance of the theater building and grounds. Our Patron Program, annual sponsorships, are available and open to anyone. Levels of giving are:

Advertising on OLT production posters is $1,500.00 and will run for a full regular season (5 productions) and will appear on the bottom 20% of each poster (approximately 3.5” x 11” on a standard OLT 11” x 17” poster).
